Does anyone know of any good bars or restaurants in New York that are not too expensive or too wild? I am going with my 2 daughters and sister, the youngest is 18 yrs old.

Take a walk between 32nd + 40th Streets on either 6th, 7th, or 8th Avenues. The closer you get to Times Square; (42nd), the rowdier they are. Many places have a menu posted on outside window. Take a peek inside to see what mood catches your fancy. Those are the safest blocks : meaning--with the most people walking around because that"s between the subway station (6th) MSG train station,(7th) + 8th Ave bus terminal...

Love The Terrace, up by Columbia University that has a huge terrace outside the restaurant. It isn't the cheapest restaurant, but compared to a lot of the better restaurants, and it is one of them, the prices are acctually quite reasonable.

if youre looking for a really fun night out i highly recommend Mangia e Beve, on 9th and 53rd st

http://mangiaebevi.com/

italian food, reasonably priced. casual. all ages, good for groups. the best part is that they play music throughout dinner and a dj will play fun upbeat songs, the waiters come around and give out tambourines, and everyone is dancing on their chairs. it was really a great time and i recommend it for any kind of get together for all ages. weekends are busy though, so make sure you have a reservation!

Theres a diner on broadway which serves burgers and stuff like that, but its 50s themed and the waiters and waitresses all dance and sing songs whilst you eat.
