It happens quite regular, when me and my boyfriend have a fair few drinks on a friday night, i 'always' end up being very chatty, but i know what i'm telling him is of importance, yet he always falls asleep, because he does this, i see it as a sign of disrespect and start shouting and 'causing' an arguement.

But should it be him thats caused it or should i not say anything about him doing this?

Firstly, everyone reacts differently when alcohol is in the system. I mean depending on what I drink varies the results, even getting tired.

I personally dont class this disrespectful, and I am not saying this to defend the guy here. I mean, If I get home with my girlfriend and she is tired, whatever I may need to tell her can wait, even if it is important.

Besides, should important things be discussed while under the influence of alcohol?

In most cases, people start arguments over the stupid of things and what you two are going though is of no importance compared to other, more imprtanr issues in the relasionship.

Talk to each other, sober, and get this small issue out of the window.

All the best!!

How can you think a natural reaction is disrespectful, if the body's tired it will sleep, maybe you're boring him or he doesn't think much of you.

How about not drinking that much, although you do sound a bit chavish so that won't be an option. Why do you also think because what you're saying is "of importance" to to you that it will be to him, after a night on the rass all you want from your girlfriend when you get home is some slap and tickle and a long heavy sleep until the morning not indepth debates in "our relationship" or the merits of panty liners over tampons or whatever half witted topic you find important.

Have some consideration if the poor lad's tired let him sleep, how would you like to be screamed at at 4 in the morning after a night drinking to discuss the merits of the continental sweeper system over the traditional english 4-4-2 formation or the chaos of the modern off side rule.

Grow up you're not that special that you always have to be heard and what you find "of importance" usually bores that pants off anyone else.

If it weren't for girls like you they'd be no gays or wife beaters.

I HAD a friend who used to think that she had important things to say when she was pissed. Usually it was a load of rubbish, and she became abusive when she was drunk. Needless to say, after a few years of this I'd had enough, and our 20 year friendship was at an end.

Sounds as if you are the same. I'd cut down on my drinking if I were you. Leave your boyfriend alone after a few drinks. If you have anything important to say, it should be said in the morning when you are both sober!

Alcohol affects people differently. This isn't disrespectful; it's the way he is. If you know he's going to fall asleep after drink, then don't take it personally; and don't tell him important things at that time.

If he falls asleep on you when he's sober, THEN you've got a problem.

When people have a drink they can change and become annoying and talk about the stupidest things but think its really interesting and important.. they also repeat themselves youre boyfriend is fed up of listening to you going on an on and the drink will make him tired as well.....what you should do is get a video recorder and record yourself talking to him and then play it back when you are sober and I bet you will be horrified.

You have answered your own question.
If you know that this is what happens on a Friday night why do you keep telling him important things while he is falling asleep. Men are dumb when they have had a drink and all they want to do is sleep. (lets face it half of them cant manage sex when they are too drunk).
If you think you may forget what you want to tell him, write yourself a note and talk to him about in on Sat morning.
This will save all your arguments on a Friday night.
Either that or tell him you told him last night, he wont remember so... depends on how honest you want to be?!

Men are usless!!Few beers and they are either fast asleep or awake but really incapable of doing any thing apart from slur anyway!!The only thing you can do is find something else to do on a Friday night that doesn't involve drinking!!Either that or next time he falls asleep chuck a bucket of cold water over him!! x

Well if you are drinking, then alcohol effects people differently, and if he falls asleep then you really can't be mad at him, maybe you should try to talk to him when you aren't drinking or at the beginning of the drinking.

you both need to respect the differences you have, if the things your telling him are so important then why are you waiting till your drunk to tell him? people when drunk chat crap. fact. and they repeat themselves again and again till the other person is bored out their tiny mind. if what you've got to tell him is important, choose a time when your not pie eyed and sit him down and tell him. if he reacts the same way then, then you'll have every right to moan, until then i'm afraid you dont. sorry.

neither of you are wrong as such - its a bit ignorant of him to fall asleep yes - but obviously he cant handle his drink!
Maybe if he could cut back on the juice intake a bit he'd still be able to have a good night out - and be able to talk to you afterwards? xxx
