I have twin kids. Actually my kids are the fifth twin kids from my wife's house. Her grand ma, mum and she her self is one from the twine. Her elder sister also has twin kids. Special attraction is no similarities with the face and nature. All of them are totally different from the other twin, even in length and size. If it's hereditary, what is the reason?

Yes cause there are two types of twin

Identical - is when they look the same. That is when the egg of your wife splits into two after being fertilized by your sperm.

Non identical - is when they are twin but look different. This is when your wife has two eggs ready and they both get fertilized by two different sperms. The eggs are different and the sperms are different so they don't look alike.

Coming back to the topic. You say your twins look different, then they are non identical. Yes it is hereditary. Your wife and family maybe producing two eggs instead of one like the others. It is a hereditary thing from your wife's family cause whether a child is born a twin or single is 100% determined by the mother.

Congradulations. One child is joy but two is double joy. I have a three year old daughter and she is happiness and the world to me. You are lucky to get two.

Good luck and hope they two grow up and become wonderful people.

Wow, that's alot of twins! I too, have alot of twins in my family. My twin brothers are very different in personality, and looks. I never thought about the fact that there are no identical twins in the family, until you said it.It seems like fraternal twins may be more hereditary than identicals, but I really don't know. It will be interesting to see the answers you get. I do know this....my brothers hated always being compared to each other, and having to dress alike, so try not to do that to your kids!

It usually means that the woman releases two eggs at the same time as opposed to identical twins which is when for some reason the egg divides int two separate people.

Since the twins don't resemble each other, I would say it is due to the simultaneous fertilzation of two separate ova by two separate sperm.
