NDA = National Defence Academy. Located near Pune, this is the training academy for young men (or Boys?) after 10+2 schooling. Entrance is after a tough Written exam, held every six months all over India in every city. The successful candidates are called for a 5-day interview, Intelligence Tests, Group Tasks, physical test, and finally Medical exam. Finally, about 400 guys are selected---from the 1.5 -2 lakhs who apply
Training at NDA is for 3 years, after which there is another year's training at IMA, Dehradoon. Finally one gets commissioned as an officer of the Indian Army.
