A person can get by on a great deal less than 8 hours of sleep in a variety of ways. It takes self-programming. And one of the key aids in that is the art of napping.
If you want to see the best use of your time, learn to nap. Take half an hour to an hour and a half right after you get home from work. Don't let people feel they can interrupt for anything less than a true emergency, and just lay down. Use ear plugs if necessary. When you get up, you have a leisurely dinner, and then you're good until quite late at night or the wee smalls of the morning. Another 3 to 5 hours at that point will restore you to top condition to get up in the morning and work well.
The trick is to develop sufficiently peaceful waking time that your body and mind do not need more to restore themselves. Conquer stress as a factor in your life, and make productive, self-satisfying use of your waking time. Then when you sleep, you feel restored.
Learn to rest and do some less strenuous things occasionally during the day, even if you can't spare the time to nap after lunch, which is great if you can afford the time. But do nap after work.
If you do not have such a regular schedule that you can have that daily rhythm, still keep the value of a nap in mind when you are busy, and remember that it is time well invested in your efficiency. When you have a reasonable choice between taking a nap and running a few errands that could wait until later, choose the nap when you can.
And if you can nap with the one you love, I can make some suggestions as to what the first one to wake up might do for the one that still sleeps, by way of magic to induce good dreams!!!

eight hours is good. if that's how much you need then you shouldn't have to try and sleep less. the people who sleep only 5 hours a night and feel fine have a different biological clock, and that's how they survive! if you were sleeping much more than 8 hours then maybe you would have to try and cut down, but not with 8 hours.

If for whatever reason you need to have less than 8 hours sleep (lots to do) then just wake up earlier and go to bed later. but don't do it just to have more time in the day. your body sleeps for however long it needs to, you can survive on less but you won't be as alert or productive, which will easily cancel out the extra hours you get.

I've done it and the easiest way is to reduce the amount of sleep you have every fortnight by half an hour. This way it will become natural for you to sleep less. Be warned though, some poeple just do need more sleep than others!

Different people need a different amount of sleep. If you want to try to cut down try to get up an hour earlier for a week or two. If you feel you're lacking energy the sleep you've got wasn't sufficient for you.
If you feel ok, you can try to cut down on another hour of sleep if you feel like it.
Unfortunately, what's enough sleep for other people might not be for you. But you can definitely give it a try!

Everyone is different and some people need more sleep, so its stupid to try and cut down if you are going to feel lousy. 8 hours is fine, I have 8-9 and could never cut down as wouldnt be able to function.

Recent research has just shown that if you have between 4 - 6 hrs a night, you live significanly longer than those who have 6 +. Herbal shops sell things that may stop you feeling rotten, coffee will help a little to. Myself, I have never found something that works. Find through trial and error how many hours you feel okayish on, then you need to develop a routine and stick to it, eventually your body will get used to it and you'll feel okay. Good luck and live longer!

I have enough at 5 hours sleep.
I don't know why this is.
I go late atnight to bed and wake up in the early morning.
I have not any problem with that.
Maybe it's because I have always so much things to do that I like and that fill my life with plessure.
I do also not have a bad mood when I wake up.
Some people can be in so bad mood when the wake up.

But Im in the process of learning how to drive so that means I'd be sleeping @ 22h00 to wake @ 05h00. Won't be eaasy but Im certainly going to try!! try doing the same, it's a start!
