The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

If you have alot of time and energy I think they are great; however, I only hear of payments under $1 and I have far better use of my time. Maybe that explains why so many people try to recruit others to do the surveys. You make more money getting others to do the work. Again, we are talking pennies here. All you are doing is selling your email address as potential leads. My privacy is worth more than that. Most people give up after a few surveys when they realize how much time they've put in for no reward. If you have the time to invest in taking surveys, why not set up your own business and get 100% of the profits after taxes and expenses??? You'll make alot more money that way. But, it's your time and your energy. If you want to believe all these claims to riches, go for it. It's that "get rich quick" desire that keep people flocking to those sites only to be snapped back into reality.

Yes
You can definatly make money on the side (as I have) through these sites and the best part of it is that you will never give these people a credit card number or money. It's as simple as joining and discontinuing participation if you discover it's not for you. Basically these offers involve reading emails, surveys, advertising and refering other people to join the site through a link you're provided with.

all I have seen thus far seem to be a scam - requiring participation fee ..... if you are truly paying me to do the survey why would the fee not be deducted from the first payment of participation - duh .... better ensures me of reality
