The queen is the official head of the army. I think she is capable of pulling the army out, but it would create massive scandal and controversy. It would look as if she did not have faith in the government. It would seriously undermine the labour government and cause protest. It could even provoke revolutionaries when they know that the head of state doesn't think that the government are doing things right, because they will believe that they have support of the queen.

The Queen is just a symbolic head. It is the Prime Minister who can decide for the withdrawal of British troops in Iraq.

The Queen is our Monarch - she is a figurehead on our behalf. We elect our government [for our sins] and our government is responsible for our armed forces. The Queen 'rubber stamps' what the government want to do because that is now the position of the monarchy in the 21st century, but she has no authority to make decisions and although she is the Head of the Armed Forces, that's rather like being the Patron of the RSPCA!

Only the Prime Minister can make that dicision because he is elected by the public. The queen is there only to rubber stamp things and represent the country abroad. She has no real power as you or i would understand. She is a Titular head, not an authority figure. She does what she is told by the Prime Minister.

true ,the Queen is ' Titular' head of the British Army

However , We have a parliament ,
to discuss any expedient moves, required ,
before a military action is to take place

we have our elected government,
who decides on military matters.

The Queen does not interfere in such matters .
We live in a democracy here

Maybe she is smart enough to know that once all the troops pull out of Iraq and they have no one to fight in th Middle East they will come to Britain and America. More bombings, more attacks. Have you not listened? They will not be satisfied until ALL the world has converted to Islam (their version) and all unbelievers are dead. All of Israel wiped off the earth. Why do you people think if you pull out of Iraq, it will all go away?

Technically and Constitutionally she is the head of the Armed Services, however it would cause a pandemonium in Parliament if she were to exercise her 'Constitutional' authority.

You may think I am exaggerating but if she were to do so it would probably bring about the end of the monarchy in the UK and could , in a worst case scenario, lead to civil unrest or even civil war within the UK.
