I recently seen part of a CNN show that showed how an illegal family from Mexico, who originally came with Visa’s to go to Disneyland 4 years ago, are still in this country. To my surprise, the son stated that he had gotten financial aid to go to college. He also stated that on the application, I’m assuming FAFSA, that he claimed he was not a citizen. Now stating that, I think everyone has the right to an education and that immigrants are what make this country a wonderful and diverse place to live. What I have a problem with is that he is able to get financial aid, yet so many American citizens are denied or get very little. How is this possible?

On another note, the family pays taxes and the husband is employed. With this being said, please tell me how they are getting away with not being deported.

Thanks.

p.s. I'm not white or a Conservative. I also gladly did not have to face this hazard, but know friends who were A/B students who didn't get any help with tuition.

$12 Billion dollars a year is spent on education for illegal aliens.

In my opinion:

I saw that same report. By Law the only Right an illegal aliens have is the right to be deported.

They can get financial aid for school because our own government allows them to and allows them to break our laws and use our system.

Americans are being denied government assistance for education and that is simply wrong. The illegal aliens are sucking up the limited education funds and Americans go without.

Its really UNFAIR that our government is giving illegal aliens preferential treatment and allowing them to break the laws!

Theory:

The government has to educate the "New Police". A foreign force that will not have any qualms about arresting and abusing the general American public on command. Where as Americans would.

The government wants what the government wants! If they have to remove the Americans they will.

The government wants more money, your land and cheap labor.

They will slowly strip you from your rights and achieve that goal.

There's a piece missing from the puzzle here, if their visas expired then they would have been deported by now, and also probably not have received aid. They probably applied for residency and got it or some interim credentials.

I'm having a hard time believing that so many people get denied at least basic educational aid. It's not that difficult, and I'm wondering if it's just a matter of not knowing which channels to go through.

It is the irony of life, some good illegals can get benefits from the government while depriving the citizens of such rights.

You can thank your liberal legislators for that and also the spineless governors who did not veto the legislation. Congress wants to give the illegals social security benefits too. Gotta love 'em. The leadership called in all the members to vote for benefits and also to vote against requiring proof of citizenship for voters in Oklahoma. There will be payback for this arrogance...

because they lie and manipulate the system, you are so right. i know quite a few that don't qualify for aid (middleclass), then they take a job that an american student should have to work their way thru school!!

Out of state students paid out of state tuition. That means minimum three time more! Is an advantage to have international students here. If they are Asians, they are smart!
