If the bump shrinks is size, but never goes away, it is most likely scar tissue. Scar tissue/hypertrophic scarring is generally a flesh colored bump that rarely hurts. The size will fluctuate with irritation and cleaning. There is little you can do about it other than hot compresses, sea salt soaks and tea tree oil to minimize it. Even if you take out the jewelry, it might not even go away. I had a bump on my nostil piercing and it took 3 years to finally go away.
Just keep cleaning it and don't change the jewelry everyday. With time, this should clear up or at least stay small

Hi, I encountered the "bump" when I had my nose pierced too. I left it for nearly a year and if anything it got worse!! I religiously removed the stud, cleaned it, and did everything possible to try to remove the lump but it gradually got worse and started to get infected on a regular basis. After removing the stud, I was left with a smaller "bump", but over the last couple of years it has disappeared and there is not a trace of the original piercing. All I can recommend is that you take out the piercing and let the wound heal. If you want it repierced in the future you could try again!!

I've got a similar bump on the top of my ear, where I had that done. Sorry, but you are stuck with it - it is scar tissue, and will go down over time (with or without the stud in), but will always be there. Taking the stud out will make little difference.

i had a similar experience when i got my ear pierced at the top of my ear, i left it alone and the lump grew bigger and bigger. when i went to the doctor i was told it was a keloid and would have to be surgically removed which believe me was not pleasent, they had to burn it off. that was 6 years ago and to this day my ear is stil so sensitive. so you should remove the stud immediately and see wil it go away if not go to the doctor and get it sorted.

Sja, you'll get rid of the bump but the pain you'll experience when you try to put the stud back ik after that time.... HORRIBLE!
Besides, you'll always keep a little scar.
