Well I really like my best guy mate and everything was going well and he finally told me he liked me too. So I met him on his birthday we were flirting a lot and that...Then few days later he got back with his girlfriend and I got really shocked but he keeps sayin i'm his best mate and i'm really special to him!! But i cant get over the fact that i was so close of being his girlfriend and i keep thinking about how much fun we had and also what would of happened if i was his girlfriend. Please Help me!!!

I'm sure you really are special to him. If you two are such close friends, I'm sure you have a relationship that's better than if you were dating. I'm sure there are things you two talk about that he may be embarassed, or scared to tell his girlfriend. You guys sound really close, and like you have a great thing going for you. Dating and relationships mess up friends like you two. When you guys wind up breaking up, then what? You'll probably never have him back in your life the way he is now. You may have strong feelings for him, but I don't think you'd want to run the risk of losing him forever rather than having him in your life as a great friend, a close confidant, and someone for whom you care for so deeply. Most people should only be so lucky to have that kind of relationship in their lives. Enjoy what you guys have, and enjoy it every day!

He thinks of you only as a friend. He came close to going further when he broke up with his girlfriend, but he is not interested in you that way. Do not let him do this again. When he is "single" again and tries flirting with you, then call him on it. Tell him he said you were his "best mate." If he has realized that he does want to have a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship with you, then he will have to tell you. Don't let him use you when he doesn't have a girlfriend.

I don't mean to judge the guy but I don't think you would want to be with him anyway. You need to get over him and move on.
I know it may be kind of difficult at this point especially if you're attracted to him and was lead on to thinking that it was mutual. However, you would be better off without him. What you want is someone who is a mature individual who really means what he says and backs it up with action; not just empty words.

It must hurt like crazy but just thank God you didn't go all the way with him. At least he's been honest and didn't tell you he loves you. Mourn a bit, then move on.

This is not an new issue , people are like this . but i think he showed his love to you.He is liar and he doesn't love you please forget him .
