You are still an employee of the company. They must write to you telling you that they are making redundancies and that your position could be one of the positions likely to go. They have to inform you of their redundancy criteria, is it , last in first out or is it done on a point scoring system where you get points for length of service and different jobs you can do. You can lose points for poor time keeping and attendance, warning letters or disciplinary hearings etc. They must by law have a criteria and they must make you aware of that criteria. If you are selected for redundancy and not made aware of their criteria you have a case for unfair dismissal. Once they have informed you of this and if your position is to go, you should be asked to a meeting where they will inform you that your position is to be made redundant. You can them ask them for their criteria and why is the job going.
They must be doing away with the job and as a result you are not needed. If they continue to do your job but with someone else in the position, you have a case for unfair dismissal (a very strong case).
Your employer must consult with you all the way and you must ,must, must, have at least 3 meetings with them.
email me if you need any more info. Good luck.

If there is no longer a job there for you they can make you redundant, maternity or not, i know because i was made redundant when pregnant and as there was physically no job for me its legal. I believe they have to pay you until your redundancy then it goes to the government to pay. as soon as you know you are being made redundant ask the company for your MatB1 back if they still have it and take it to the job centre who will help sort out your claim.

if its going bust then you will have to wait for the recievers to pay out or you will only get NHS maternity.
if they are not closing then yes they have to pay you i believe.
