Optimal blood pressure with respect to cardiovascular risk is less than 120/80 mm Hg.
If high blood pressure isn't treated, your heart may have to work harder and harder to pump enough blood and oxygen to your body's organs and tissues. A heart forced to work harder for a long time tends to enlarge and weaken. A slightly enlarged heart may work well, but one that's enlarged a lot has a hard time doing its job.

150 is considered high normal is 140 for systolic BP. The impact is not considered in short term, except if you already existing cardiovascular problems or other problems that could be affected by high BP. The impact is considered if it remains in 150 for a long period of time. It can cause problems i.e. big heart, weak vessels - it may burst and cause stroke if it is in the brain, cause damage to kidneys and many other problems
