I've liked a guy from my class for 6 months now...during these couple of months, he seems to get closer to me by sitting next to me in class...i've had feelings for him from the right start and i've finally built up the courage and told him how i felt about him and asked if we could go out sometime...the answer he gave me was maybe...wat does maybe mean? He seem like a shy guy and i've neva seen him talkin to another gal (he's not gay) would he have said maybe because he's not yet sure how he feels or does maybe mean he's just not interested and does not want to hurt my feelings coz im friends with him?

as u said he's a shy guy. the "maybe" he gave u doesnt mean rejection. Give him time to reflect. He is still finding the answer. However, u too have to prepare for the worst. :) bcos the same thingy happened to me when im in 13. his answer was also maybe.. but i got ignored since 14. and now we no longer friends. perhaps juz schoolmate. and.. the worst thing was i liked him from 13 till 16. 4 yrs! recently.. im trying to let go... Maybe he is trying to figure out how to take you out. Maybe he doesnt have a car, maybe he doesnt have money, so instead of letting you down, he says maybe, while he figures out these things...try passing your number to him..then you can talk on the phone until maybe he gets over the shyness.

most of the time, when a guy says maybe to a girl, in that fashion, it means yes, but he wants to come off as cool or not desperate

well it can mean many things maybe he was nervous or scared or shy. but just ask him to be straight with you if its no let him no that it will be ok that you guys can still be friends
