In this Religion section, there are always ppl b*tching at each other over a stupid thing that just wastes time. I thought this section is supposed to help answer an actual question that the person has (i.e. wat does this word in the bible mean, wat is Judaism, etc.) But instead, I find arguments over which religion is the best, basically (which isnt fair, cuz christians usually have more support in this topic). And dont tell me that these arguments are the atheists fault only. If it was just a bunch of atheists, then who the hell are they arguing w/? Why do ppl take religion so seriously?!

cristitians are brainwashed as children, and therefore are respond as fanatics. most "atheists" you refer to are really non-cristitians, as am I. Most atheists were raised as cristitians, but grew out of it.

People always take what they truly believe in very serious. I hate the fact that you have people gripping at each other over religion. I use to be christian and now I'm wiccan. I do not have the right and I would never think that I did have the right to tell them that their religion/beliefs are wrong. I'm no one to judge and I would not belittle any ones religion as long as it does not hurt anyone.

Because religion is a deeply personal belief(or nonbelief in the case of atheists) that people can't dream of living without(or with in the case of atheists again). When that personally-held belief is questioned or even shaken, it's emotionally painful for the person being questioned. So they'll instinctively and vehemently defend that belief until they're confronted with unshakable proof otherwise.

There is a whole lot of angst and anger out there right now, and most of it is directed towards religions from other religions or people with a bone to pick.
