As an atheist, I have read both. And I find them both boring, repetitive and confusing. But, I would say the Quran was the worst of the two.

the Bible was just a book to me..there were many good stories..but there were good stories in the set of Hans Christian Anderson books.
However, the day that I actually met God..my eyes were opened, and my mind was opened to the understanding of the Book.. Now, it is full of life, and the meanings are vivid..When I pick it up, it is alive..

The Torah survived for thousands of years written on parchment scrolls. However, we must recognize that the Torah is a compendium of many writings by different authors which was codified into a single document by learned rabbis about 1400 years ago. The Christian Bible or Gospels were the first book published using a printing press. They'll also stick around. But, we should remember that there are numerous different gospels, each of which has been translated into different languages. The result is that different sects of Christianity have unique beliefs which may never be reconciled. The Quran basicly exists in one form. There are not multiple versions. You also shouldn't study it in any language other than the original Arabic. There's a tradition of memorizing the entire Quran. I think the hafiz performs this honorable task. All of these books will survive in our collective memories and also as printed media, because they are the most valued writings that humanity has produced. These books express our collective values, and through their parables, describe the human condition.

Both are boring at times, though I haven't managed to get more than halfway through the Quran yet because I felt more compelled to read the Bible back to back. They are both histories, and have something to teach, but if you take anything unquestioningly, well I'd say that's not very smart. I became a Christian based on personal spiritual experiences, not the contents of the Bible. I believe it should be the same for anyone of any religion, even atheism.

I've tried to read the Quran, out of respect for the friend who gave us one and the millions of people whose beliefs come from it, but, yep, the water's awful muddy! Meanwhile, I'm always surprised at how fascinating and lyrical the Bible can be. Right now I'm pretty jazzed by Habakkuk. (Who would have thought...!)

I've never read the Koran. I've read parts of the Bible, and, while it can be confusing, even inconsistent and is supposedly not in chronoligical order, I don't find it as boring as you do, but I tend to focus on the proverbs and psalms.

It is insensitive to ask a question if either of these 2 holy books are boring/confusing or not. The Quran and the Bible are written in a such a manner that it uses metaphors and complex analogies to interpret a wide array of situations. Because of this, it is often that people have different perspective towards a specific verse from these holy texts. This causes the confusion.

Some people find certain points made in these holy texts repetitive might be because the point that was made might be intentionally repeated to emphasize the need for it to be addressed. Typical of humans, we tend to repeat our past mistakes, so it seems only natural that certain points have to be 'nagged' on in this holy texts in the hope that through constant reminder, we might change for good.

As you are an atheist, it is natural for you to be opinionated towards the Quran and the Bible. It does not appeal to your ideals and principles thus you find it boring and perhaps redundant. However, this is not the case for believers of the faith.

They are Holy Books.
Not only you, but millions of people, including religious followers, think that they are boring, because they are extremely difficult to understand. All books of high ideals, of advanced sciences, of progressive philosophies are boring to heedless people. Can you tell how many people admit that the UN Charter is interesting and useful to them?
Some day, more people will turn back to the diligent and devoted study of the Sacred Scriptures, and especially to put those sacred verses into practice, then mankind will enjoy a new Golden Age.

I'm sorry I'm answering this question, but it's not for your sake, only for the defense of the Holy kor'an. By the way muslims believe in the Bible too, so u' better steer clear of both, and find something useful to do .

if u think this is freedom, ur freedom is rubbish and am sorry for u.
