Business Class Vs Economy

Depends on the airline and the distance travelled.

Premium classes always offer:
- Shorter checkin queues;
- Lounge access;
- Greater luggage allowances;
- Priority luggage (first off the plane).

They usually also offer:
- Better seating (from a marginal difference to a flat bed)
- Better meals (from actually having one to a 5 course meal with multiple options);
- Priority boarding (early or late);
- Priority disembarking;
- More service (constant attention to top up drinks, provide assistance)
- More toilets per passenger.
- Larger entertainment video screens
- Noise reducing headphones;
- bigger selection of drinks, magazines, complementary newspapers.
- far higher frequent flyer point accrual.

Some also offer:
- chauffeured limosine service;
- flight suits (pyjamas/tracksuit for sleeping on)
- arrivals lounges (shower and breakfast before leaving the airport)

To get an idea look at a few airline websites to compare their service offerings in each class. Take Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and British Airways as good examples.

Note that some airlines have first class that wouldn't even come up to scratch as business class on others (e.g. VARIG), while others have business class that surpasses some in first class (e.g. Virgin Atlantic).

Economy Class: Think of it as a bus ride with food and sometimes a TV. Newer planes may have personal Inflight Entertainment (IFE) systems on economy class but older planes (especially on domestic flights within the US).

Business Class: Good food, wide legroom, your own IFE.

First Class: Great food (think: caviar, etc.), IFE, you get to board and disembark a plane whenever you want, basically VIP treatment. You can also use the airline's lounge on your airport of origin which probably contains showers, computer terminals or wireless internet, unlimited food & drinks, napping areas, etc. while waiting for your flight.

Personally, I don't think Business Class/First Class is worth its price on short haul flights. On long haul flights (those with more than one meal and usually international), try to get Business/First Class if you can afford it.

Apart from the cost, it is the level of service and the size and comfort of the seating and leg room.
Some airlines provide limo service to and from the airport for Business and 1st class passengers too.
Privelidge boarding and first off the plane so less waiting at immigration, etc. Baggage is first off too so less delays to your schedule.
Larger baggage allowance too.

It is worth it for frequent fliers believe me and also for long haul flying if you are a larger person and can afford it.

the economy - most cheapest rate, the business class - higher rate than economy, a little upgrade on the food, you can reclined your seat more, the leg room is quite spacious. the first class - more higher rate, food is upgraded, you can lay down your set to become bed especially during long travel its very comfortable, you are attended well by the crew, add on facilities and amenities.

price and size of the seats primarily. get free food and drink in 1st class too. not worth it unless you can get a free upgrade.
