Im a Christian and have been living for Christ for a few years now. But, every once in a while I get such a void that I just want to pick up all my stuff and move somewhere. Maybe join the peacecore and live with indians in the jungle or something. My latest was move to the mountains so I could rock climb and ski all the time. There is a book called Iron John that explains males like adventures more then females but dang....I like want to do drastic crazy stuff. What is this void Im trying to fill what am I trying to find? Im in my mid 20s single. I have read of guys traveling the entire world over 100 countries and they come home for a couple years then do it again. I always thought the real reason their doing that is because their trying to fill that void of Christ in their heart. But, now I have a similar drive to just pack up and go. This is killing me its like a caged animal wanting out. What is wrong with me? Why cant I be content with what God gave me? God Bless

You cannot fill a God-shaped hole with manmade adventures.

God is calling you to seek his will for your life, and you are looking to things in your environment instead. The world and its various offerings will not fill that void. Seek God's will, and all shall become clear to you.

Why should you just sit and be content with "what God gave you". If everyone did that we would still be living in caves and wearing animal skins. Get up and have your adventure - go out into the world, join one of the organizations that send helpers to the third world and do some good at the same time or do what ever you feel like. Don't let old age creep up on you and leave you feeling frustrated because you have never done anything with your life. I have no religion but I do know that having been round the world more than once has given me a deeper understanding of myself and those around me than I could have gained in any other way. Don't waste life - go out and hug it with both arms, you only get one ride on this roundabout. Good luck and be yourself.

I recommend prayer. At the top of one of those mountains would be good (safety first, don't go alone). When you truly find the Christ within, there will be no voids. You might actually have something in you that wants out. When you pray, see if there is a part of you that won't sit still. If there is and you can tell if it feels (this should be a tactile sensation) like it vibrates with what you know as the Christ, then it is a part of you that needs to learn through travel. If you can feel that this nervous energy isn't in harmony with what you know as Christ, then exorcise it. This is simply asking Christ to take absolute authority over it, asking Christ if there are any messages it needs to tell you before it leaves and then send it with Christ to the father for retraining. If you have a hard time with this, find someone who can help you through it.

Maybe God is speaking to your heart and your still trying to figure it all out. You should look into joining a missionary group to somewhere. It would give you a chance to spread the word and travel as well. Its an adventure in faith that may fill the void you currently feel.

Have you asked God to reveal his will for your life to you? Ask him to put something in your path so big that you can't miss it...that way you know for sure it's his will. I think our God given destiny doesn't stray far from the desires he instills in us. Why else would he have given them to you? Doesn' t really sound like a stumbling block. Sounds exciting. You may have to be patient though. God may need to teach you a few things right where you are before he sends you on your great adventure. Jesus was in his 30's when he started his mission.

i used to be like that...... i've lived with every single one of my family members in the state (5) and quite a few friends....... sometimes i would just get the urge to leave so i would pack my things and go. at the time i would carry a toothbrush and change of clothes with me at all times in case i felt like leaving at any given time. at the time i believed something different than i do now. i spoke with God how i knew to at the time and asked him to help me and guide me. also i did ALOT ALOT of research to find out about different faiths and beliefs and ideas. i found where i belong and i could not possibly be happier. there were a lot of small miracles in my life let me know God was guiding me.

**and in my personal life.... i have a home! i know it's a weird thing to be happy about but i think it's different for people like you and me who have had this constant feeling of restlessness. i LOVE being in my home now. this is another prayer God has answered for me.

i hope all this helps you. if you want any help with research you can email me at syeda1203@yahoo.com

Don't be so hard on yourself. It's likely, having not found a mate, that God has given you this spirit of adventure in order for you to fulfill the Great Commission.

I wouldn't worry so much about it. Whatsoever you do, do ALL to the glory of God...
