My mom met my dad 8 years before I was born-they were friends and all. But during this time he was married and also had 4 children. Well in 87' I was born and he came and saw me a couple times. Well we moved from ILL. to MN. when I was 3- And I have never talked to him or had any contact. My mom never really brought him up. And what I know is that he is well to do and a nice guy. So I don't know why he never really tried to contact me. I know he had a family but not even just once in awhile. Well I was thinking about it lately and I feel like I want to know him and share a father-daughter relationship.Do you think I should try to contact him?I am almost 20 and I feel like I'm running out of time-he is getting older-prolly almost 70 yr. old by now.Just I'm courious :| I don't know what to do. I am stressing over this tonight since I found a card I wrote back in 93' during Christmas and It showed I was writing him and sent pics-never was sent.I have no info on him :(

What does your mother say about your wanting a relationship with him? Maybe his wife and children don't know about you. I would think long and hard about this and talk to your mother to see what the situation is.

No need to think. Jus sooner contact ur dad. If u dont have any info. then get all those from ur mother. Its all ur right to have father-daughter relationship. Also ask ur father when u meet him to say to everyone that he is ur Father. Never leave that right coz it may lead to some problem in ur marriage.

you can get information about him through your mother or any of your mother's friend. i think you should contact him once a while because after all he is your father. once u will meet him all ur curiousity will be over. but hey, don't expect too much out from him. consider my advice, don't fret over ur past on which u have no control but look to ur future and nurture it.

i would leave it that alone,the father not the one who gives a sperm the father who brought you up,maybe the other family even doesn't know about you,why should you rune other people life,and your own,and than you may be very disappointed,i had a friend like you and she also never met her biological father and she is doing great.
