As with just about any breed of dog, there are good ones and bad ones. The only ones I've had experience with have been very vicious.

Your liver spotted dalmatian is a good breed but remember what they are bred for....following a coach for 20 or more miles per
DAY! Meaning that if you dog doesn't get enough exercise his behavior may get difficult..anything from non stop chewing, barking and even biting..This breed also benefits from obedience training. These days some owners use human treadmills to help with the exercise and like humans start slowly and work up the distance...after his vet gives him a clean bill of health.

I love Dalmatians and provided you look after them well they are excellent pets.

Like all dogs they require a lot of exercise and one of the best ways to do this is by riding a bicycle around a large park, friends of mine have always had Dalmatian dogs and enjoyed horses as well so they would ride taking the dogs along.

They are intelligent and need to keep an active.

Enjoy.

Yes they are lovely, i have got at 7 month old dalmatian called daisy. SOOOOOOOOOOOO much energy it is un believable but so loving. Shes deaf but so well behaved on walk we don't have any problem with letting her off the lead, she wont go more than 2 minutes without coming to us to check we can see her and she can see us.
we only got her because the breeder was going to have her put down because she is deaf, and that is what the kennel club says to do with deaf dogs-so cruel!! there is nothing wrong with her. she was so lucky that my girlfriends sister was the vet nurse on duty at the time she was brought in to be put down and she convinced the breeder to give her a week to find her a good home, and just like that we have got the most beautiful Dalmatian.

I have always had a really soft spot for Dalmatians. Did you know that they were originally 'carriage' dogs because they trotted alongside their master's carriage back in the 18th Century?
They can have a problem with going deaf, but otherwise they are the most beautiful dog and I envy you having one.
I don't have the space or time to look after one properly, so I have a Scottie.
Good luck, good walks and "woof!" to your spotty friend!

I bought one from a top UK Breeder a few years ago. Nice dog outdoors, but very territorial indoors. I had to find a new home for him (farm) after 18 months as his behavior was becoming more aggressive. I spoke with the Breeder who advised his mother was similar, and that another dog pup from the same litter was now in his 3rd home. It had bitten a child somewhere along the way. Pity the Breeder hadn't mentioned the bad side of the mother's nature when we bought him. Personally, I would avoid them. I'm not saying they are all bad, but we spent well over £1000 all-in (dog, micro-chip etc...) just to give him away and be dog-less again.

Dalmatians are one of the best all around dogs. They're very active and full of energy. A dalmatian never tires. They make good retrievers and excellent watchdogs.

Dalmatians are very hyperactive dogs, if you have the energy to keep up then youve made the right choice!! Good Luck!!

Dalmatian's are great dogs. Just remember, they need a lot of exercise and they need daily grooming to get rid of all their dead hairs.
