Ok heres my situation! I have three dogs that i love more than words! Milo a Chihuahua, Bud a German shepard mix, and Maggie a Dachshund mix! They all respect me listen to and are VERY sweet! Except Maggie doesnt think of me as "pack leader" Bud and Milo listen and do what i say but maggie does NOT listen! She has never bitten me or even tried to!I think she thinks that she owns me, because shes very protective of me towards my other dogs! But when i try to dicipline her (because she is very ruff with my other dogs) she just like ignores me! I watch the dog Whisperer a lot! He says to pin her down to show her who's in charge! I can do it even with my 65 lb dog but she just lays there and then when i let her up she goes right back to doing what she was doing before the correction! I dont know what to do with her please help! How can i make her listen to me?

My Pit Bull tried to be alpha when we first got him, I am *not* a dominent personality, and dogs can sense this. Any time he tried to pull something I just grabbed him and put him on his back, and didn't let him up til he submitted. I still am not a dominent person, but I am definately Alpha.

I have always found that the way to teach my dogs who is the dominant member of the pack is through treats and meals. I reward the dog with treats when they obey but they get nothing until they do obey. I usually start with the sit command then the stay command. Each time they achieve something they are given a treat. My pets are never allowed to eat without first being told to stay and then I allow them to carry on and eat their meal. Sometimes it seems to take forever, but if you persevere you will get there in the end.

When she misbehaves, or doesnt listen to you, scoop her up immediately and put her in isolation. Dogs hate being away from the rest of the "pack". Dont even talk to her when you do it.

It may take a little time, but you have to be consistant.

Teach her to sit..You will find great methods for teaching this online..
Then, allow NO food or treats until she sits..she may miss a meal or two, but the way to a dominant dog's brain is through his/her stomach...Sit..Sit...Sit..Once she has that down pat, you got it made..Pick up her food after 10 minutes, so she can''t nibble throughout the day..

Find obedience classes geared for aggresive dogs. They teach you how to handle your dog.

You send it to its place and tell it there's no TV tonight for as long as you don't behave.
