you can also type in schizophrenia in any search engine, and you will find "tests" that will ask you several questions, based on your answers they will tell you if you are likely to be, or might be or are likely not, it's a good place to start.

Well, an MRI scan can show areas of brain abnormality that are indicative of either schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (but not tell them apart). But I'm guessing it's probably easier to get a proper diagnosis from a psychiatrist.

Incidentally, if you're schizophrenic, then from your POV you have no symptoms, so forget that route. And you're most probably way too young to get diagnosed as bipolar. Just pray to God you have neither.

By the way, any fool with a couple of hours to spare and internet access can concoct a set of 'symptoms' to convince a psychiatrist to give them any diagnosis they want. Just be careful what you wish for. I'm bipolar with occasional psychotic episodes. My anticonvulsant mood stabiliser has a small but finite risk of causing an untreatable and fatal allergic reaction. If I stop taking it, I risk triggering epileptic seizures. My wife took one of my antidepressants to help her sleep and it put her on her back for 36 hours (I take 3 a night). My antipsychotic makes you put on between 20 and 40 lbs for starters, carries a risk of diabetes and has a warning that it may cause SUDS - sudden unexplained death syndrome.

You sure you want that diagnosis, girl?

You seem very paranoid. I was looking at all the questions you have asked and most are about your mental illness. Have your parents or gardians taken you to a specialist? are you taking any medication like Zyprexa etc?
We are not doctors and cannot give you all the answers to your questions. You need proper medical advice. Hell we dont even know if you have a mental illness. So talk to your doctor or parents and get some help. You are very young and it is a shame to have your life ruined by an untreated mental illness.

This is not a substitute for a mental health professional's advice, but if you're wondering about whether you're schizophrenic, you're very likely not. Schizophrenics believe their delusional ideas rather than believing that they are having serious head problems. They don't seem to question their situations as you are questioning yours.

what?!? you are 13! if you did your parents or teachers would have you in a hospital or at least diagnosed and on medication. Darl you need to either get real help (WE ARE NOT DOCS) or admit that your 13, young and have your whole life ahead of you. You could be out socialising with your friends but your on yahoo answers asking questions about illnesses that people twice your age have. I know its not uncommon for young people to have mentall illnesses but you need to wake up to yourself!
do you really think that if you were schizo that you would be on here asking us questions about it? NO because Schizo people beleive that they are not sick, they think they are other people.
Please dont waste your life you are so young. either get help or live your life as a normal 13 year old.
I hope this wasnt to harse becuase i dont mean it like that. I just think you need a wake up call. Sometimes it takes someone to tell people that so they can get on with things.

It is impossible to know your cholesterol level if you dont research the words. It takes a long time for any young person to learn about psychosis because the profession is not easy to learn. A young person can find many support groups on line and in town for depression . Depression is the key word to master in all of this.
