its funny isnt it, well sad actually. christians preach how to treat everyone with respect but yet they feel such unacceptance towards some people. its not like gay people are all murderers or as some dim wit on here said it turns them into molesters??????? What the! The only thing we can do as individuals is be as accepting and loving as possible. Even you (the asker), probably dont agree with a lot of people and the way they do things, because it is very hard to be non-judgemental about something you dont understand.
You bring up such a valid question on here( i havn't seen many). I hope you will pass on good judgement on this situation to your children and one day the world will accept gays and their wish to marry:)

Double morality, hipocrisy, not accepting they're wrong... Call it whatever you want. But I have to tell you I have never seen anyone more furious about molesting priests than a certain Christian friend of mine. He was definitely not supporting these perverts, and he said they should be expelled from the church because they gave the whole church a bad name. I as an unbeliever was only furious about the crime. My friend was furious about the crime and also about the implications for the church.

My point is that luckily not everybody is the same in the church. Too bad they don't have much power.

Christians are called to love EVERYBODY, not just straights. On the other hand, we are also called to judge a person's behavior, to see if they are behaving like a Christian should.

God tells us in His Word that homosexuality is an abomination. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament assert this. Here's one verse that states just that:

Leviticus 18:22 reads: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] an abomination. (KJV)

And a person cannot live in constant, unrepentent sin as a homosexual (or liar, murderer, thief, etc., etc.,), and hope to see heaven. That's not to say that God will not forgive this sin. Christ died on the cross for just that purpose. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

"I know that there are a lot of "Christians" that hate the homosexual rather than the homosexuality. This is sad, We are called to love everyone. I personally have had many gay friends, and am a better person because of my friendships with them. But I mourn for their souls, because I know that without turning to God and turning away from their sins, they will spend an eternity in misery.

I don't think that many people are ignoring the priest scandal. It's a disgusting situation, and so, so many young man and women have had their lives ruined. Again, it's sin as the culprit.

God Bless!!

First, you've made an assertion without providing evidence, but I know that you mean to refer to right wing Christians whom apparently are more bothered by the first behavior and not the other.

Second, I don't know what said group has said about the Priest molestor problem, so I can't say either way that what you say seems to be actually is.

With that aside, I can say that I pretty much agree with you. I don't know how many of them get "vicious" in their anger, but I cannot reason their opposition to homosexual marriages as being justified. I don't think Christians have the right to dictate what marriage is to the rest of us. But, and this will be hard for some to accept, they have the right to vote and lobby Congress to inact their religious views, as that would be part of their 1st Amendment right of expression. It might even fall under the Redress of Greivances clause, but that may be a stretch. As for what the doctrines of various religions actually say about homosexual relationships, I do not know, but I know many right wing Christians feel it opposes them, fully or by inference.

I don't see the hypocrisy existing as your question apparently tries to show it does, but I do wish right wing Christians didn't have the belief that their view on marriage can be the only one.

BOTH are a sign of a sick society. It's not normal for two men to be together and it certainly isn't normal for priests to molest little children. Yet....it goes on and on and on! It will only stop when God steps in and separates His people off this earth and sends the sick ones to hell where they belong. Then they can all marry and molest all they want in that place that they chose.

Men look silly in wedding gowns dahling. Women (either life-partner) look fabulous either way - especially in Vera Wang. ;-)

Why do the priests or ministers that molest children tend to pick boys mostly? Does that make them gay pedophiles - or a Bisexual pedophile that would pick either one but only a boy was available? I just don't get that. Don't hear much about lesbians in this situation.

Just one more ancient bias that simply refuses to die. I's just one more religious idea which has no basis in anything useful, and was simply created because of majority rule/bias. The majority of the population was straight, therefore that was considered the norm, and others were ostracized. Someday we will get over it and realize it's not that big a deal, but biases die hard so I wouldn't expect it to be anytime soon, especially when groups are stirring up that bias again to serve their own agendas.

Good is Good Evil is evil And you call sin by its proper name.
No one should get viciously mad or deny what has occurred with some priest. We are all capable of sin which is why we should have forgiveness and understanding for all souls. With respect to same sex marriage, we do not have the right to decide for ourselves what is good and what is evil. We are called to love everyone and to explain in love not with a club but in love that it is wrong. Why? Its not in accord with right reason. Its not in accord
with the Divine law, It not in accord to church teachings, Its not in accord to the natural law. It hurts yourselves and offends God. We do not make God to what we want him to be but we allow God to raise us up to what we ought to be . God Bless.

Because they dont think 'their' own backyard needs cleaning so have to be a sticky beak and look in someone else's.

He who is without sin PLEASE cast the first stone?!

Also it is not 'normal' as they identify love with physical pleasures only. They could not possibly even entertain the IDEA that love is actually deep rooted spiritually, and that in spirit we are neither male nor female, we are both polarities, but when birth happens by....we have to choose one.

Those that are greedy choose two!!!.....lol!
