It's a big universe. Maybe we aren't God's favorite. Maybe what we need to learn from this life doesn't require or would be ruined by God's appearance. Maybe there are endless universes and all God really did here is establish the physics and chemistry for this universe at the moment of the big bag and then moved on to other godly pursuits without a backward glance.
I kind of have a problem with people saying that god somehow needs us to blindly believe certain things. Why would god respect that?
That said. I really like the whole bible thing, and the whole Jesus thing. I say my prayers whenever I remember to and hope the guy capable of inventing the whole freaking universe could possibly care to listen. I think any Deity capable of putting the whole universe together certainly deserves a little worship.

God is all powerful, Power beyond your or my imagination. And most important he is Perfect. We on the otherhand are not, we are imperfect, stricken with disease so to say. If we had to meet God face to face we would die for one, but also we cant because we are born with sin. That is why we have to pray through Jesus his son. and the Bible says that we have to keep on praying. God wont just Snap his fingers and fix our problems, we also have to look at our lifestyle the way we follow his word, and im not just saying just being a good clean person, that alone is not enough, we have to go do what he says, there are so many things in the Bible that have been put there by him that so many (Including myself) dont know exist or just dont do, because we dont understands it or some say its not meant to be explained just followed. I have learnt from Experience that the only people willing to sit down and explain and back up what they explain with proof are Jehovahs Witnesses

God gave people free will, or rather, they (Adam and Eve) chose it. If God were to appear and people knew he existed, they'd have a lot harder time doing bad things, which they are perfectly free to do. Free will would be greatly compromised just by people knowing there was an all-powerful God who was completely in control and wanted them to always do the right thing.

Have you, even ,thought, that maybe it could be you who might loose something like maybe even your life and not that God has something to loose? The Bible says that no man can see God, and yet live(Exodus 33:20)And it also says that the pure in heart, will see God, that, is not in a literal sense but in their hearts(Mathew 5:8)

We are here to learn to live by faith in order to make good choices and to live with the consequences of our choices. God has given us guidelines to help us make those choices. However, He will not force us to choose one way or the other. If He were to appear and tell us all - what good would our earthly experience be to us? It would be like giving us all the answers to the exam.

You really shouldn't doubt God's abilities. He certainly has his reasons for what he does and why. When he thinks it's time to have a talk with the family, you'll be invited. Don't doubt it.

I guess we're supposed to believe in a god without him having to prove his existence, that's the basis of faith. (S)he wants true believers, not people who "know" and have to have proof. Which is stupid and idiotic, not to mention irrational.

He did just that. In the person of Jesus Christ. He came and died for our sins. He did tell us how it is - its in the bible.
Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
