this is a tough situation to be in...
i would have politely explained to her that it's really important that your daughter not be interupted while she's trying to eat and that it would be best if she could finish her meal before being talked to.
if the problem continued-i would then ask for a manager. i find it appalling that even after you moved your daughter (a clear sign that you didnt want her touched), she moved furniture to get to her!! this is unacceptable behavior and i would have left a comment about it for the manager w/out being to obvious about it.
sometimes people are truly unaware of how rude or inappropriate they are being and it's my guess that she wasn't trying to be rude or cross the line on purpose. a manager politely pointing out to her that this was not ok might fix the problem in the future.
i have 3 little girls and my youngest (now 4) has natural strawberry blonde hair. i've had people try to actually pick her up and hold her inside stores b/c "she's so cute". i've quickly pulled her away, explaining to that person that it is not ok to pick up someone else's child w/out permission.

Be happy that you have a baby that adorable!!
My daughter is 14 months and we get that all the time too. It is nice but annoying after a while I agree.
I would have made my husband be the bad guy and told him to say something to her. LOL
You could have said "Oh no Hon, don't get in her face they she is coming down with a bad cold."
Or you could have talked to the manager about it but that would have been embarrassing for everyone. Don't go back to that restaurant for a while LOL

You did the best you could do. No sense making a scene as you would look very bad, no one else would have understood. I would call the manager of the restaurant now that it is over and let him know that it made you uncomfortable. No one needs to be kissing on your daughter that you don't know.

as a former manager myself i would say ya should have called the manager to let him know, if you go to a restaurant its to have a good meal and not be annoyed by such things, she was focusing in on your baby too much and not on her duties which were to make sure ya had a good experience at the restaurant

I would have addressed the situation and asked the waitress to not do what she was doing. She was not only making you uncomfy but she was crossing a boundry. I would have asked her to stop and maybe even mentioned it to her boss.

Maybe your daughter is too cute.Just tell the waitress that you are not comfortable to it politely.Sometimes you have to make things clear by saying it directly not let her guess......

well its too late now but dont let that happen again. that is creepy. you are your childs advocate. I would have asked her politely while the girl was moving furniture to get to my kid to stop if it is for that reason or get up and leave without finishing explaining to the manager your reasons for doing so.

I would have been flattered that someone felt my daughter was adorable enough to show so much attention. Lighten up, the waitress thought your daughter was adorable. If it REALLY bothered you don't return to the restaurant.
