Well I do them a lot and I find that if you have stronger abs they're a lot easier to do. I tried doing them over a year ago, and it just didn't work for me. Then I got onto a regular working-out regime and started doing them regularly again, and it was easier. BUT then a guy told me that they don't help with your abs, but work your hip-flexors. Which one is it? Or is it both?

they actually work your lower abdominals. but if you really want great abs buy an exercise ball, they're great. you get a more intense work out with them and total support in your back. and they work all your abdominal muscles.

Nothing's wrong in doing leg raises... It helps you tone the lower abdomen... Well.. if nothing's happenning... check on the frequency of exercises you do, for a beginner do 45 leg raises daily.. and check on your diet... a low carb diet will do the trick..

It helps to strenghten both which helps to add flexibility.
