My 5 month old daughter has the same problem. She has a rash on her cheeks from her saliva because she's teething and she sometimes has a rash on her forehead or on her legs and arms. Her pediatrician suggested to use Hydro-cortisone ointment and it works. But the rash will come back. You just have to reapply as needed.

Without seeing the rash it is hard have a clue what it is. If it continues you will need to take her to the doctor for a diagnosis. Rashes have many causes from sweat/heat to allergies to infections and only a doctor can give you a clear diagnosis.

it could be both, it could also be a rug burn. to tell you the truth i am not an expert, so i would call your doctor and ask him if it is anything serous such as measles , chicken pox, Roselia etc.. my Lil brother is almost a year(Nov.12) and he always has a rash on his body. the doctor said that he may be allergic to the animals, clothes soap we use or it could just be dry skin. he said that it is very normal in infants. i know that i am allergic to laundry soap and thing that are unusual to be allergic to.(tendril, un-cooked onions)
she could also have a yeast infection.

has she been playing around poison ivy, or has she been exposed to construction debree, bad insulation tends to have microfibers that cause rashes. My advise it to have her room cleaned just in case and apply some cream or penisilin to the affected area

Why are you asking for a medical diagnosis on a message board? Take your daughter to a doctor.
