Is a dark olive greenish color ok?

I sincerely doubt the family will care what anyone wears...it just about whats appropriate and right

Light colors are acceptable. Wake is to celebrate their life. The Burrial is the day your mourn.

Generally good colours are what you feel comfortable in - the wake is for the deceased and the living and each wake is different - some may be formal - some may be casual - first find out where it is - in different cultures different colours mean different things - so if you don't want to involve yourself in this type of 'political' thing, where something toned down but not too dramatic or dark and avoid extra bright colours in large amounts. Certainly a splash of colour may be nice - it is a type of celebration after all -

not white...that would be in poor taste
dark colors are better...black, navy blue, dark olive green should be alright

it depends on the beliefs of the deceased's family. If you have a question about what is correct, ask them.

The price for a funeral now, I think any colour should be appropiate.

go with white. it will lighten the mood and make it seem kinda holy
