God wants us to trust him in all that we do, and believe that if we put it all in his hands, we will be fine because then we will be living in his will, and not ours. He doesn't want us to doubt what he has in store for us, because he in the one ultimately in charge and has the final say. But doubting is human and in my own life I've found that I do it often.

Have you read it in the Bible? You cant believe what you hear. How do you ever learn things if you dont doubt. If I told you 2+2=5 would you say "ok" but in your head you know 2+2=4 and you would doubt what I say. Later you read in a math book that 2+2=4 and you were correct. So doubting some things can make you look for the truth. If you doubt God exists then go looking for the answer so that doubt can have some basis or you the dount can be unfounded. Doubt that is healthy can lead to good things.

If I remember my religious studies properly, its not exactly a sin, but it is highly frowned upon.
Traditionaly, the only things viewed as sins are those that violate the 10 commandments, or the 7 deadly sins.
The bible itself does make the claim that you should not rely on your own intelligence.

No. How can you come to know an answer about something if you don't question it? After all, when Paul was preaching about Jesus, the bible tells us that the Bereans searched the scriptures to see if what he was saying was indeed true.
God is "big" enough for doubt. He said, "come, let us reason together". Thomas doubted, remember? He said, unless he saw the Lord, and even put his fingers where Jesus had been nailed to the cross, he would not believe He had risen. And when Jesus did appear to Him, He said to Thomas, "you see and believe, but blessed are they who do not see and yet believe". Bring your doubts to God, open His word, read. He will reveal to you that you can trust Him.

It's human nature to have doubts. We don't come equipped with All-Knowingness.

It depends on how serious your doubt is and whether you know exactly what you are supposed to do and refuse to do it because of doubt.
