not condensation, evaporation. When sunlight passes through gaseous water in the air, the water reflects light in prisms which creates the visual effect of rainbows.

Yes it could, and it does. Rainbows are the reflection of sunlight off tiny spherical water drops that act as prisms.

white light is refracted through moist air and the colors separate.
White light is made up of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet light. The same thing happens when white light shines through a prism.

There was no rain prior to Noah's flood. So the rainbow was seen for the first time after the flood. He gave it as sign of a covenant like Esther stated previously.
