I hate to say this but you just know. I knew my man was the one by the third date. Things with him were easy rather than a stuggle with all the other guys. Things came naturally and I was never worried how he felt about me. I just knew that he loved me and that I loved him.

I've always wondered that myself. I'm guessing this much so far:
-you can see him/her being the father/mother of your kids
-everything flows naturally and your completely in sync
-he/she makes you want to be better/you feel better about yourself
-you know that once the butterflies and lightning feeling goes away, you will still want him as much if not moreso
-you're willing to argue with him/her for the rest of your life rather than not have him be in your life at all
when all is said and done, I hear you "just know". There are no doubts.
that's a pretty neat way to feel about somebody. i can't wait

This is a tough one! Sometimes we dont think until baby comes out and we face the consequences of having to work out the relationship and mature faster. On other hand, it takes time to know he/she is the one...our heart feels and choice!

the first answerer is right. when you know, you just know, period, and you have no idea how that feels till it happens. ambiguous? yeah. but believe me, it's true. so just wait till you're sure. you'll know when you know. :-)
