I'm trying to do a power point presentation about the movie, so I want a few stills. Somebody told me to just hit print screen, and grab it from the clip board, but all this does is show exactly what I'm seeing in my video program in some other program. I can't have two different pictures from the same movie this way, and to have any pictures, I have to leave the movie in the DVD player.

Is it because I was watching the movie with intevideo WinDVD instead of Windows Media player? Is it because I pasted into Power Point, or Word, instead of Paint? or is there some really stupid security measure that's getting in the way? It's not like I'm trying to pass this off as my own work, it'll be fully credited...

I think I've already established that pausing the movie and hitting "Print screen," "Prnt Scrn," "Preent Scrin," "Print Scrn" or "Prt Sc" won't work... by trying, by asking, and being told it worked once, and trying it again. Answers that do not include the phrase "hit print screen" might be nice.

"Control I" doesn't seem to do anything either. I'm getting a little frustrated.

If you're gonna play the movie on Windows Media Player,

Press ctrl+i to take a screen shot.

Please note that PRINTScreen Wont take any screen shot.

Good Luck

A single frame? Press the "Print Screen" button. It might be also labeled "Prnt Scrn" on some keyboards.

There's no security measure in the way. It's just that you cannot get a print screen from any media player.

Do it like this:

Get Virtual Dub (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/)
Open your movie with it.
Go to the frame you want to save.
Now press CTRL+ALT+PRINT SCREEN
Open Paint.
Paste the image in your window.
Save it.
Use it how ever you want.
