Well... the Bible says that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit... and as such, we should treat it with respect... I do recall it being forbidden in the Old Testament... because the heathens did it... however... most of the levitical laws have been fulfilled through the sacrifice of Christ... sooooo...
If you've got a temple... feel free to decorate it... but do it tastefully

While there is nothing wrong with piercing for earrings or a nose-ring, extreme piercing of body parts is to be avoided. Certain types of body modifications carry serious medical risks. Tattooing with unsanitary needles has been associated with the spread of hepatitis and HIV. Skin disorders sometimes result from the dyes used. Piercings can take months to heal and can hurt for much of that time. They can also produce blood poisoning, hemorrhaging, blood clots, nerve damage, and serious infections. Additionally, some procedures are not easily reversed. For example, depending on the size and the color, a tattoo can take several expensive and painful laser sessions to remove. Piercings may leave lifelong scars.
As far as tattooing is concerned, God instructed the Israelites in Leviticus 19:28:Â “And YOU must not make cuts in YOUR flesh for a deceased soul, and YOU must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves."
Christians are not under the Mosaic Law, although it sets out certain principles that were carried over to the Christian congregation.
Paul wrote, at 1Â Corinthians 6:12: “All things are lawful for me; but not all things are advantageous.” Paul understood that his freedom as a Christian did not give him license to do whatever he wanted without consideration for others.

No, I don't think it's wrong for people to get tattoos or piercings. There's nothing in the Bible that says people can't get tattoos. The only reason that it was looked down upon was because pagans were using them as a way to worship other gods. It was a cultural thing back then and the cultural does not apply within our culture. It's all about worshipping God than it is about the tattoos and piercings themselves.

I have pierced ears. I am not crazy about tattoos, but there is nothing wrong with it. Instead of asking if it is against the Christian religion (which it is not), ask yourself "what am I going to look like with this on my body when I am 70?"

Personally I don't like either. However the first time I attended a Spirit West Coast concert many years ago, I saw a T-shirt that really made an impression on me...

I think the bible says not to put markings or cuttings on your body. I also think there are alot of worse things people can do than get tattoos. Personally, I don't like them, that's all.

Peircings no.
Tattoos maybee. It's in the reason for it. If it's a tattoo paying homage (worship) to something (other than God) than that's wrong.

Yes it is wrong. God gave us this body as a temple to respect and take care of best we can. When in perfect form it will have no pictures or holes in it that he did not give.
