We have some "christians" at the bottom of the street who give out religious pamphlets instead of candy. Talk about a trick!

Pagans rule.

I always went trick or treating, and I would hand out candy but I'll leave it to my dad to do (I have a class tomorrow night).

The way I see it, is that Halloween is about as good a reflection of the wiccan holliday "All Hallows Eve" as the easter bunny and Santa Claus are of what we (Christians) consider to be the true meanings of Easter and Christmas.

As it is now practiced - it's a secular holliday. So let the kids have fun.
Though if I have kids, I wouldn't want them to dress as demons or witches.

We go trick or treating at home, and by Grandma's house (they live in Wisconsin). We go to the pumpkin farm and all the other fun stuff. BUT we also celebrate Reformation Day (which is what October 31st is), and how Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses to the door of the Wittenburg church on that day in 1517.

I live in Australia, although a small minority of Australians do celebrate this festival, its not really wide spread.

If i was an American (living in America) i would dress up and pass out candy. I am baptised a christian, but my beliefs arent as strong as some of the other people's on here.

Of course we will pass out candy.
There seems to be a general misunderstanding, kids dressing up and having fun is great.
All of the spititual junk that goes on is the concern. For example, check out the movies in the theaters and on TV this time of year.
People buying into dark things is a concern.

Anyone who excludes their children from Halloween activities should be ashamed of themselves. Some of my fondest memories of childhood are of Halloweens with my parents and brothers and sisters. Now as a father of three boys I always look forward to spending Halloween with my kids. Its a fun and creative kind of holiday where you can spend time with family and friends without the stresses of Christmas or thanksgiving. Halloween has nothing to do with Satan or evil rituals. Get out of the 6th century and let your kids have some fun.

I don't get any kids. My apartment complex is like a labyrinth. I think they go elsewhere. I will not be buying candy. I know what would happen, abba zabba wrappers everywhere, no children in sight, and me 10 pounds heavier the next day.
