I've had 2 cats over the years with asthma, and have it myself. I took a nebulizer (medical mist machine) which mixes asthma meds with sterile water. Got a cat sized elizabethan collar and covered the face end with heavy plastic wrap. Cut a hole for the tube of the nebulizer to go into. I would put the hood on the cat, and have her breathe the mist for about 10 minutes a day (which worked well for her). It eliminated the wheezing and coughing right away, and she lived another 5 years (died at 17)

Yeah, it's called "feline asthma".

The most important type of drug for treating feline asthma is a corticosteroid to reduce the chronic inflammation. The most commonly prescribed corticosteroid inhaler is Flovent. Some feline patients also benefit from another type of medication called a bronchodilator.

I hope your cat is indoors only. Keeping the house very clean will help. Air cleaners can also help. Numbuizers may or may not be effective for your cat. That's a wait and see thing. Here are a list of web sites with good info for you to check out. Glow for your cat

Pretty much all I can say is keep him in the house and out of that dust. That should help. I've heard of it, had a couple cats with it, and keeping them inside worked really well. It wasn't easy, because they were outdoor cats, but we all got used to it. What really helped them was unlimited access to laps to snuggle in and being able to tease the dogs 24/7. lol

It is a cat-tastrophe!! This is a good vet site:

Maybe change the kitty litter type. May be a food allergy. Perhaps an air purifier.
