thinking quickly can be trained with what you called DECISION MAKING, and it comes with experience, if you dont have experience doing one thing, wouldnt you look it up and do your research ? and wouldnt that take hours to do?

but this is what they call the process of learning, once you learnt it, applied it, and always do it, for instant building a chair, wouldnt you get faster when you build the next and even faster and better doing the third chair?

so Military is all about training, you would know if you have gone to camp. They do drills and tactical operations day in and day out. Make them think and reactive quickly to situation. (in war there are also blunder) not all decision is made out right, some were wrong judgement and innocent people get bombed for no reason.

so what ever you want to make yourself faster or to think better, go learn and apply it to real life, EXPERIENCE would come in very handy ! Cheers.

If you want a healthy psychology you need to keep your physiology healthy too. Meaning exercise and eat healthy. Your mind and body are strongly apart of each other. Its very important to keep the body healthy if you want to endure intellect. Also, it is very important not to allow any mind altering toxins into the body. This includes alcohol, nicotine, marijuana etc. There are studies that show alcohol does hurt brain cell development on a very small level same as nicotine. But, who wants to hurt a BILLION dollar industry right. So these studies are over looked. Now to strengthen the brain do puzzles, thinking games, math. Sketch a picture of a friend or anything. This will stimulate thinking. Do not do anything passive meaning TV. Studies show even video games are much healthier for your cognitive development because you need to make quick decisions, plan, strategise, adapt etc. TV might be educational if its the discovery channel but its still passive.

The trick to that is actually the opposite of what you're asking. In order to get quick reflexes, you're supposed to DECREASE your thinking and just go for it. If you need a reminder, put a Nike swoosh on your stuff to remind you of the "Just Do It" slogan. Also, martial arts can help you in both physical and mental discipline. The biggest obstacle, of course, is fear. Once you have that under control, you can pretty much get things done.

The best way to keep your mind is sharp is to visualize a certain
situation. Do engage in sport, reading and do mental exercise. One thing you can do is try to see color, model and make of cars passing by you and try recollect faster. To look at your
surrounding and try to recollect as many object you can remember. I can remember almost 97 % the people I meet at work if I see them again but I am terrible remembering names of
strangers execpt my families and close friends. Expert say it takes about 8 seconds to remember images. You do need to chalenge your mind by having different acitivity to keep it sharp. If you sit behind TV waste over 2 hours and more your mind gets dull. You got to have lots of hobbies and good social life
to help you get different subject matter.

You need a good foundation first. #1 Ginko Biloba #2 Phosphatidylserine. Ginko helps blood flow and PS is what the majority of your brain cell membrane is consisted of. After that you need to practice, drill, rehearse whatever you want to be good at. Remeber, the action is the memory!
