i suppose diabetes could be a factor in a young child, but i've never heard of fever and stomach pains as being a symptom of diabetes. I thought it was severe thirst, irritability and the like. I think you should take him to your doctor a.s.a.p.

Good Luck

I don't think it's the sugar. I have seen and experienced sugar withdrawal, and talked to many many who have. Nobody ever reported a fever. The usual symptoms (if any) were temporary fatigue, irritability, shakes (early on), depression. In the absence of more sugar, these symptoms go away within a few hours.

You should call your pediatrician with this question. research child diabetes online as well. research under pediatric medicine or something like that. at any rate maybe you could try and reduce the amount of his sugar intake every few days until it is greatly reduced and change his routine to brushing his teeth after each meal using oral b training tooth paste that is ok if swallowed.
