I pay $220 a month for myself, wife & 2 children in Colorado. I am an insurance agent though so I was able to do research & find the lowest price for the best coverage.

For a family of 3, I pay something like 100+ a month in British Columbia, Canada. For the same coverage in the Province of Quebec, I paid 0$ and I believe it is the same in Ontario. If Canada is supposed to be free across the board for HealthCare, Why do I have to pay in British Columbia? And if so, where does this money go and for what purpose?

We Canadians do not pay one red cent.

All basic medical treatment is covered. Xrays, Check Ups, Surgery. All residents of Ontario are also entitled to enroll in "Trillium" which subsides the cost of prescriptions. My income for a single was $48K last year and I was still allowed coverage after a certain amount. I am sure BC has the same.

What's up with those Canadians who say that they don't have to pay? MSP (Medical Services Plan) in BC is definately not free, unless you make under $11 000 per year . I would love to know what provinces you live in!!!! I may have to move! The MSP premiums are $54 per adult and $27 per child per month. But that won't cover anything like prescriptions, eyecare, dental work, etc.

$134 a month, and it lasts until i leave my job, or you can get what they call a COBRA and keep paying and it will still cover you after you leave your job, but the rate is a LOT higher then, and only lasts so long, like maybe 6 months.
