some vets will neuter as young as 4 months old, and others will say 6 months old, it will depend on your vet, discuss it with him.

Now. They are neutering cats as early as 6 weeks now. You don't want to wait past 4 months. Good Luck ! :)

The best age for spaying or neutering is at six months of age. This is usually before females go into heat and males start spraying.

Four months is the perfect time to have your cat neutered.
Some Vets will do altering when a cat weighs two lbs. I personally think that is to small. If you wait much longer your cat may start spraying, this can happen as early as 5-6 months. It's much better to have it done before they start spraying, that way it' isn't a learned behavior pattern you need to break.

Darlin' Our vet is on the "Small Animal Clinic at Auburn University" in ALABAMA.. and HE sez ( and he should KNOW) wait till they are 9 months old!!!! That gives them all the hormones they need to have healthy bones and stuff. They get a bit HORNE but, we have waited with all our tom cats.... and they make the biggest, healthy pets.

The last time I checked, my vet told me that when your kitten reaches six months of age, or six pounds in body weight is when you get him neutered.

Which ever comes first, is perfectly fine, as long as its that weight/age or above.

Most vets will ask that you wait until six months, but some will at four. Ask your local vet which one's better for your kitty. They'll let you know.
