Lol, well then they might actually use logic and be reasonable by accident, denouncing the bible and it's ability to make coherent sense.

Well, I have answered and asked several times and never quoted the Bible, but i do understand you question. I often think it is the difference between an openminded person and a narrow minded person. I've been a full on Christian for 55 years and have an open mind, as you might see as you read any questions or answers I have posted here. But also, each belief a person has is usually based on something and the Chrisitan faith is based upon the Bible. I think the trouble comes in human interpretation of the Bible. There's always a hitch, isn't there. I guess that's why we are humans. If you are looking at Christianity and are truely interested, look to an open minded person who is willing to listen to you instead of just tell you that you are wrong. I believe it should be that way, accepting such a large belief should entertain a lot of questions. :)

Our lives are directed by God's Word, revealed in His Scriptures. There's not much that cannot be found in them (hence, a quote for everthing).
If you were a Doctor, would you offer advice based on your personal beliefs, or based on Medical knowledge, obtained from a book?
I have many opinions - God probably doesn't like many of them. I can also speak freely, but what I say may not be in agreement with what God says.
So when I am asked about something, especially of a spiritual matter, I depend on my knowledge of God's Word - not my opinions. If I'm confused about an issue, I check Scripture first, to see what God has said.
I've found this to be true of most Christians. God is supposed to reign supreme in our lives, and we are not supposed to lean on our own understanding.

I'm Catholic....a Christian.....and to answer a question through knowledge provided by the Holy Bible seems precise, knowledgeable, educated, accurate and literate for those of us who search through the scripture.
If you can't find your answers through the Bible or here on Q&A, maybe you should just look things up on Wikipedia.
Good luck and God Bless.
John 13
35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.

I have opinions AND I quote the Bible! Just as you would give credit to an author of a book when you quote a passage from it, so credit (glory) is given to God when I quote from His book. My opinions are entirely separate from quoting the Bible....they are just that...MY opinions and not always necessarily correct. The Bible is the infallible, inerrant and inspired word of God. There is no better source from which to quote when it comes to the things of God. Please consider my answer to be from my own thoughts and most certainly spoken freely.

Christians read the Bible to help them to find ways to work out any issues in their life. So if WE find a verse that has helped us or one to remember for the future, WE are trying to help when we answer with a Bible verse. If you ask a human being for inspiration it is only natural to give to you what inspires us. If you don't think it was feasible then ask the person to answer in their on words, they will probably be more than happy to ablige or else go ask a non-believer and decide for yourself which answer is best for you.

Of course Christians are allowed to think and speak freely. It is just that Christians tend to agree with what GOD has already revealed in THE HOLY BIBLE.

In my opinion, the very best verses to quote from the Bible come from the Gospel of John, the thirteenth chapter:
"A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another
As I have loved you, lthat you also love one another.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples
By the love that you have, one for the other."
Doesn't that quote from Jesus Christ sing to you? It does to me!!
In my opinion, everyone ought to copy this verse from Proverbs and carry it in their pocket or post it on their refrigerator, or maybe on a bumper sticker, so everyone can share it:
A merry heart is like a good medicine
But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
In other words, SMILE...and quit taking yourself so seriously! Otherwise, your bones will dry out!!
Anyway, that's MY opinion, if I may be allowed to speak freely.......

If I speak about mathematics, I will use numbers.
If I speak about my poetry skills, I will use the English language.
If I speak about health, I will use examples of sicknesses.
If I speak about children, I will use my sons as examples.
If I speak about History, I have to use Jesus because even the name in itself says "His Story".
If I speak about life, I use examples from my own life or others.
What is wrong with using the Bible when I speak about my faith? Do you read the newspaper every day? That's how one learns about what is happening in the world, right! Well, I use my Bible when I am speaking in here about God because I am talking about my faith and God. Amen. (By the way, did you note that I did not even use one quote from the Bible here?).
Hope that this helps you. Thank you for your question.

That is very untrue. I am a true christian and I know a total of 0 bible quotes. I know the bible and what its message is and I try to follow it. If this is your observation on Christians then you could probably say the same about other religions. I say what I want and think what I want. Non Christians and Jews killed Jesus!!!
