I was blessed with a Lab that was a reject from the guide dogs training program..She was absolutely wonderful, but full of energy.. We palyed fetch with her until she was tired, and that made her a saint...lol
when I say 'fetch', I mean, we would throw the ball over the housetop, and she would run around the house to get it..That gave her a good workout, and was always fun..

I have a 2yr old yellow lab and she is overly active. We work with her with her daily. For the most part we work on commands and let her run off some of the energy that she has from being inside while we are at work. If you live somewhere where the weather is nice labs love water. we take C.J.(our lab) to the lake in the summer months and through her toy out for her to retrieve. That seems to burn alot of her energy. It all depends on what you want your lab to learn and where you live. We also take her to play with other labs that our friends have so that she will be able to socialize well with other. Hope this help.

Absolutely, YES!!! My first lab is now a 9 month old 80lb puppy, he is healthy and still growing. I know that if I do not work with him at least an hour a day he gets bored and starts chewing anything and everything. I have missed one day here and there without him going neurotic, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I don't yet but I plan on working my girl every day when I get her. An hour before work and at least an hour after. Depending on how close a house I can get to my job I'll also go home on lunch and play with her then as well.

Labs are an active breed of dog that requires frequent exercise. As such, they should recieve daily exercise. (Side note): most labs become bored if they are not entertained, during this time they become destructive (chewing, digging). By keeping them busy you can not only prolong the life and health of your dog, but save your belongings as well.

All dogs need daily activity. Especially active breeds like labs. So you should go and have as much fun with him as possible.

you should... but skipping a day once in a while won't hurt.. ver active dogs, they will get fat if you let them... they will get bored too.. and if that happens they will develop bad habits... to ease their boredom, like chewing your good shoes...
