tip of my tongue and lip which lasts for many days. Is it possible that I am allergic to the material in his gloves

Yes, its one of the side effects or (symtoms) for being allergic to the latex gloves. Or the powder, on the gloves. Tell him/her.. whats going on... he should have other types of gloves available to use. Alot of people are allergic to the latex.. you wont be the only one.

Many dentists use a topical anesthetic which they apply to numb the mouth slightly before shots, etc.
You may be allergic to this. Ask.
If the gloves are latex, and not nitrile, yes, you could be!

It certainly sounds likely. Ask the dentist to use an alternate glove, which most of us keep on hand for latex-allergic patients. (Vinyl or nitrile)

Perhaps. If you are allergic to bandages with latex, you could also be allergic to latex gloves.

Next time you make a dental appointment, perhaps you could mention this to the office before you go in. I suspect they can make other arrangements.
