Well, Jesus never said it either, you know. He referred to himself as "the son of man."

Jesus is most definetly not a god. He was a brilliant magician. He was not the son of god. He cleverly pulled the wool over everyone's eyes, considering the desperation people felt and the utter oppression they must have felt under the crushing power of the roman empire it probably wasn't that difficult. People were looking for a hero, a savior and Jesus spit out the right words to deceive them all for his own political aspirations. I don't worship or even care for Jesus, but I give him his due because he was very brilliant, unfortunetly the same way hitler deceived the entire German nation, but Jesus at least gave people hope that after you are done suffering this putrid life their lies ahead an even better one. His message was righteous, but his intent may have been a little more deceptive than people are willing to believe. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but keep in mind this only my personal opinion. You just wait and see that even today and in the coming months the world will become more and more immoral and the people will call out for a savior to help in this time of suffering and another brilliant person will give us hope, but be weary my brothers, for your savior lies inside each and everyone of us that is willing to fight for humanity, not religion or god.

Was Jesus a good man? A good teacher? Jesus said he was the Son of God. He said He was God. So, we have a dilema. If He was not God, he was either insane or a liar - neither of which would qualify him as a good man or a good teacher. If Jesus was actually good, then He had to be Who He said He was. That's what you have to decide.

As CS Lewis said, Jesus claimed to be God, so He's either a liar, a lunatic or Lord.
If you check out all the Old Testament prophecies that Jesus fulfilled, and then realize that all of the apostles died martyrs' deaths proclaiming Jesus as God, then you realize there has to be something to Jesus' claims.

And this just makes it more clear-

Mark 10:17-18
As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up and knelt before him, and asked
him, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus said to
him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God Alone.”

They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray." He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch." Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." (mark 14:32-36)

This makes me think that he was the son of God.. not God.

Did anyone else here know that Paul never met jesus.. that boggles my mind.. didnt he write like most of the bible?

very troubled

That is one of the things you will have to decide for yourself. Jesus was denounced by the Jewish leaders of the day for that exact reason; that He claimed to be the Messiah, the son of God. He either was the son of God, or He lied, or He was insane. You need to decide what to believe.

Jesus is not God. Jesus was a man who walked the earth and was put here by God just like all of us.

Actually....the funny part of it all...is that if someone stated that they were God today, they would be ignored. Our society wouldn't even bother to waste tax payers money on institutionalizing a person who claimed to be God. We'd just walk right on by and shake our heads...mumbling "whatever".

Jesus was a man. A regular dude that said a bunch of righteous things 2000 years ago.

Well this someone was dead, in a tomb for three days, rose again and was seen by more than 500 people, as well as many other proofs. One day you will stand before Him and He will be your judge, you better believe Him.
