Generally because people who side with those in charge write history that in turn gets a lot of support from other people who support those in charge.
There are movements within the subject of history where accounts of those who are oppressed, marginalized, and the like are taken into account, in order to revise history, with the intention in mind of accurate revision.
One problem with the subject of history is that there are many whose testimonies don't get shared due to things such as illiteracy and other forms of disempowerment.
The best an historian can do is piece together a more complete picture by taking into account written accounts, civic documents, art, diaries, and all manner of material. It is a difficult task.
But the simpler answer to your question is that sometimes school books lie because people lie. Also, another simpler answer is that the agreed-upon perspective tends to win out.
It takes people of dedication, integrity, and inquisitiveness to write history accurately--and even then it is still a best educated guess.

Who ever wrote the books never really researched their history before allowing them to be taught in schools...Even today, I have tried to see if the US government can make some changes and correct the true histories of the world...It's these religious fanatics and people who are related to those that call themselves historians that won't admit they are wrong...As long as we know the truth is all that counts...I fought and questioned my teachers and argued and gave my point of view and input on such subjects.Which of course made the teachers angry and wouldn't talk about it...It's these type of teachers that should be condemned and replaced...

I believe they aren't much anymore. Now they include an evolution section, which many teachers are reluctant to teach, however, it is about time the included the FACTs in textbooks. Isn't school about learning what is true? Shouldn't the actual evidence be displayed and the student left to decide what to believe? Fossils exist, the theory of evolution is just as proven as many other theories taught in astronomy and geographical books so why would it be left out?

The primary purpose of public education is to create submissive citizens and soldiers assured that THEIR nation is a shining beacon to the world, willing to pay their taxes voluntarily and to happily fight for "freedom".
Inventing BS history that paints all the 'good guys' as beacons of virtue aids this endeavor significantly. How many people would still think what Lincoln did was fantastic if they knew he was nothing but a power crazed racist who cared nothing about the issue of slavery, but rather, used it to motivate abolishionists to fight an unnecessary war of federal domination over the states?

I don't know where you're getting that information. History is history, and no one can change it. You probably should have cited a specific example of what you mean. Otherwise, I can't give you an answer.
