not only that but I don't believe that anyone who calls themselves atheist truly are.
It takes too much faith to be an atheist. So much that I don't believe its truly possible. I think they just love the attention.

Where ever do you get the notion that spirituality does not exist outside of Christianity????? Is you mind really that narrow?? Religion is an institution, it is a bureaucracy, it is not synonymous with spirituality. The way most "christians" interpret the Bible is a bunch of literal stupidity. That's something I ordinarily would not post here, althoug it is my belief. Does it mean I'm not a deeply spiritual person? NO. Does it mean I'm less than you? NO. Does it mean I go to hell? NO. Read the heading on the the section, please. It doesn't say the Christian section does it?.
You have your faith. I have mine. I respect your right to believe as you wish. I do not shove my faith down your throat nor do I call you names nor curse you to "hell" - and it's that unchristian attitude so many of you "christians" spout that has so many on here pointing out the illogic and hypocrisy of your version of faith.

This is offensive to me.
Maybe we come here because we think all of you Christians who have to come discuss your religion (which you apparently have *so* much faith in that it doesn't matter what others say) are really looking for the right reason to accept that evolution is completely truth and that is evidence is unarguable.
Let's all work extra hard on our research so that the Christians won't have to have an excuse to believe in god any longer!
Oh wait, we'll be doing our research anyway.

I forgive you because you know not how offensive your question is.
We come onto areas like this because you come onto our doorsteps and into our television sets and into our schools and into the philosophy areas of forums. We are enticed by the statements you make that are slanderous against atheists and agnostics and the bigotry you spread about homosexuals and non-Christians.
Besides, the only safe place to admit to not being Christian is the internet. I've got the scars to prove it. If we talk about how we feel about Christianity in the real world we get forced out of our jobs, spat upon, and assaulted. If you talk about how you feel about atheists in the real world all you get is agreement and pats on the back.

Ultimately God comes to the atheists in the form of death. And those who think they are God at the time of death are proven wrong. So eventually everyone must bow down or at least lay down before God. Life after life they will be given the chance to accept Him. That is the way of our most merciful all loving God.

I come here because I feel that those looking for answers on the subject of religion should be given the atheist viewpoint instead of simply being bombarded by the ravings of religious wackaloons. Is you skull so thick that you did not even consider this?

no, i think atheists are intelligent people who like to hear what others have to say and offer an opinion when they feel they can help, or just give the other guy a fair chance to speak his/her piece. i am an atheist, and always have time for missionaries. i'll give them the time, and the attention - the chance to point out to me something i may have missed. the way it always turns out is that they end up pointing out to me all the holes in their faith.
i'm not looking, i'm just interested in what makes people who are usually perfectly smart check their common sense at the door and become blind to reason. it makes for an interesting conversation. and i like to try to understand people. in this matter i am still coming up blank... so i keep trying to understand it....

Religion concerns me greatly when it is verging on Theocracy. When I see more moderate Christians acknowledging that the separation of Church and State is a valuable part of the U.S. Constitution, I'll lose interest in being here.
It'd be nice if Christians relied more on reason and less on wishful thinking too.

Yet another thing that you believe... that, " a true atheist doesn't believe in religion or spirituality at all, so they wouldn't be coming to this category!!!!!!!!", for example, that is just not true!!!!!!!. So, stick that in your 'open eyes'!!!!!!!!!

looking for attention? isn't everyone looking for attention? want their questions answered? their answers questioned? want their comments to be thought provoking?
your "question" isn't so much thought provoking as simply provoking. out for attention and kudos from your peers. you're prayers mean feces! you don't pray to God for the betterment of anyone. you pray publicly to your god to make yourself look pious and holy. do what your messiah told you to do and go pray in the closet, you attention whore you.
sheesh! and then you see Christians wondering why Christians get bashed. just look at the crap Christians like this unctuous hypocrite spews.

Praying for them is a good idea in any case.
This kind of statement that you have made above is not a so good idea. We look condescendent, and we should be just loving and caring.
