I noticed the last few times that my 11 month old male Lab has went "potty" he is urinating blood. He drinks plenty of water and is acting just fine. Can anyone tell me why he is bleeding and what I can do? Or should I just get him to the vet?

Yes, you need to get him to the vet - ASAPee.

Even if he's not acting sick or injured, he could have bladder infection, kidney stone, some sort of internal injury or trauma, or even cancer.

It's likely it's something that can be treated with antibiotics or other meds, but it's best to get him in to the vet soon.

I agree get the dog to the vet. Is it a male or female. If it is a female she may be starting in heat too. Urinary infections also cause this. I would also when at the vet find out if it has an avid chip in it too. A lot of people forget that the dogs may have it. The owner may be looking for the dog too if not then are you ready to pay for the expense of the dog. Hope you make it a good home if so. Good luck but I would definitely take it to a vet.I would also take a urine specimen in too. That isn't hard to do so the vet can analyze it

Get him to the vet right away! Urinating blood can be a sign of serious problems for a male dog.

Aww hon you need to get him to medical treatment ASAP

even if its an after hours animal hospital...

It could be stones or a Urinary tract infection for a simple common cause of Blood in Urine... both are uncomfortable for your pooch and will cause greater problems if left untreated..

There are other more sinister causes fro Blood in Urine but those 2 are oftent he cause in an otherwise healthy unijured dog.

Really.. dont let it go... See a VET as soon as possible or go to an ER vet or facility!

Good Luck

get to the closest vet ur dog might have internal bleeding if this is so the vet might be able to stop it if it has been going on for a short time. if it has been going on for a long time and u get to the vet and it is internal bleeding there is nothing the vet can do the dog sadly will die.
