I got a perm about 3 months ago, and I haven't blow dried my hair since. But I wash my hair late at night and I don't like going to bed with wet hair. Is it OK to dry my permed hair? I used to have straight hair before my perm.

It is fine to blow dry permed hair. Just use a heat protectant like Thermasilk and blow dry with a diffuser on a lower heat setting...NOT high. Leave hair somewhat damp this helps fight the frizzies. Hope I helped

Not really, it will cause your hair to become extra dry and since you have chemicals it will cause hair breakage. Your hair is relaxed so why don't you start using rollers at night or wrapping it up? I go to bed with wet hair all of the time, but I wet set it. It does not matter how your hair was before it was permed, now you added chemicals and not it's totally different, you must start taking extra care of it. Your hair will need extra moisture now since the blow dryer and the perm causes your hair to become dry, brittle.

Not to. Chemicals & excessive heat are extremely damaging to afro american hair. If you MUST use the blow dryer, do it when the hair is 3/4 of the way dry (by allowing it to air dry or sit under a traditional hair dryer), then blow it out on Med Heat setting, just so that it can get a straight concistancey. After that use your curling or flat iron for styling. when styling with styling irons, be patient, section the hair in smaller, thinner sections; your texture comes out better. Good luck!

Yes it is, but over-doing anything can be bad..same goes for blowdrying. Any chemically treated hair is dry, so make sure your hair gets all the conditioning it needs prior to washing and apply some leave on conditioner after rinsing your hair.

I don't think you are suppose to, I believe it damages the perm. Plus I think it will also make your hair very frizzy and blow drying it usual makes it straighter.

it's ok to dry it! just make sure you use a good conditioner and a gel or moose so it doesn't fizz. It is also good to use a diffuser with curly or permed hair.

I always blow dry mine. If you have a dryer with a diffuser use it, it will help keep it from being to frizzy.

Its fine as long as you put in a heat protective cream before you do so. Try one from loreal paris or rusk.
