Hello, I assume you have placed pictures of the cat on your signs. The best way to find any lost animal is to post a cash reward.Money talks. In your lost cat signs around your area, put up an immediate cash reward.Even in the newspapers, you could place a picture ad with your cat's information. And the internet might have a few sites for you to look at and post your missing cat.I have included a few missing animal sites on the internet for you.A very good idea for you when you do find your cat is to have an identification chip put in it. I prefer to keep all domesticated animals indoor these day if they don't live in rural areas.I hope you find your cat.It might just be around your house.

When we were in Manila and my cat refused to come to my call... I would go out with a tin of tuna or sardines (something smelly) and open the tin with a can opener (making quite a lot of opening noises). No fail - cat comes bounding back meowing, "I wants it!!!!! But of course this will only work if the cat is not tooo far away and if he is only hiding to play a game of "find me if you can" with you. Some cats do that - they hear you calling, callin. They even see you, but for their own reasons, refuse to come. But usually, when they get hungry enoung they'll come home where they know they will always be fed.

Am so sorry about your cat. Take heart. My cat went missing once for 10 days and I was half convinced he was dead. I prayed for his well-being on 10th day and when I came back from church, there was my cat meowing outside my bedroom window. He was injured. But he is well now.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I lost my cat for over 2 months. I was pretty sure she was gone for good, when I got a phone call from a vet. Somebody had found her and took her in. Thank God she had a microchip! I had flyers up too. Try putting a "Lost" ad in the paper. How long has she/he been gone. Cats have a funny way of finding thier way back home.

The best way I have found yet to find a missing cat (if it hasn't run too far off and isn't badly injured) is to run an extension cord out to your front porch. Then....open up a can of anything (it can even be a can of green beans) with an electric can opener.

Every cat within about a half-mile radius will come running toward that noise. Hopefully, one of them will be yours. (Okay...a half mile is a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea.)

That might sound silly and overly simplistic, but I told one client in particular to do that, and she called me back in tears to tell me it worked. She had been almost hysterical, because she had been looking for her older, somewhat sickly cat for several hours already....and darkness was rapidly approaching, along with a snowstorm. She had been calling and calling the cat's name, shaking the dry food box, etc.....nothing.
She did the can opener thing when I suggested it and immediately heard a "meow"....looked up, and saw her cat sitting up on her roof, with frosty whiskers. True story. (He was somewhat cold, but fine.) He HAD to have heard her calling all day, but only answered the can opener....LOL.

Good luck. I hope you find your kitty.

(When you do, please consider having it microchipped in case this happens again and he/she gets injured. It's not expensive at all.)

Also....if your cat is not spayed or neutered, you have no hope of keeping him/her home (where it's safe) until you have that done. Hormones are really powerful things.

A strange but good suggestion, put out a used sock or other item of clothing that will have your body odor in it. this might attract your cat. Another thing to do is to go out at night trougout your neighborhood calling your cat's name or making sounds that your cat would recognize.

I was lucky last year. My cat snuck out from under the radar one day when I was receiving a package. I did everything I could to find him. Four days later, at midnight, he came back. I heard him meowing outside the door. He was hesitant to enter the house, like he needed my permission. I signalled for him to come in. Poor little guy, after he ate a tremendous amount of food, he cried all night. I felt like I had an infant because his crying kept me from sleeping and every half hour I would get out of bed to hold him and comfort him. It took him only a few days to recover from his ordeal. Now, thankfully, he is afraid to veture away from the house. Even when he bogarts out the door, he only goes a few yards.

I hope your luck is as good as mine was.

Put out some food and water. If the cat is still local he/she will probably return around dusk - this is the best time of day to find a lost cat.

contact local vests, and hang flyers. many local radio stations have "pet reports"

keep on the lookout around your house, most cats don't stray to far from a familiar place. if you have a coat that you wear all the time, wear it when you look for the cat. They have excellent smell and may come out of hidding if they smell you.

My cat was hidding under the neighbors porch for 3 days, scared as can be, she recognized my nubbies smell when he was smoking whereing his unwashed jacket, and crawled out of hiding and followed him back home.

DON'T get overly excited if you see your cat, they may take it as anger and run. Be calm, be soft with your words. Don't shout "KITTY COME HOME!!!" Say it in a normal, calm voice. "here kitty, kitty"

Do a Google search for "lost cat (your city)" and find some places to post on-line -- when I took in a stray, I posted in a number of places on-line about it, and regularly checked on-line "lost" postings.

Good luck.
