you seriously need to look past the fact that you have an awful teacher because it hapens to us all. while you are studying or reading your text try and connect exactly to the lecture and or topics discussed in class. if the lectures or topics discussed in class don't match the text that your teacher is assigning than I would hate that too and find it frustrating. however that means that both things are fair game when it comes to the test. you need to be prepared to answer questions about the things discussed and presented in class and the things discussed and presented in the text. if you try hard enough AS LONG AS THEY ARE THE SAME SUBJECT LOL, you will be able to make some quarilation between the two. even though you don't like what it is you are doing right now, especially with the teacher, remember that you are very smart and you can still get a good grade.

I have a story of overcoming something like this. I won't mumble too long but basically, I took a class in Physical Anthropology and I hated it but it was required of me to take in to graduate college. At midterm I flunked it. I had decent scores on all my quizzes bla bla bla. After the midterm, my GREAT attendence which I hadn't missed any at all, and my quiz scores I had a fifty six percent in the class. I needed atleast a seventy to pass and graduate comunity college. I am not a science person because it doesn't come easy to me nor is it paticularly interesting. Anyway, I decided that I was going to do everthing in my power to get atleast a C... after the midterm the only things left to do were the final test, an eight page paper and a makeup test which was cumulative over the sememster. I studyied everthing there was to... and wrote a paper that I absolutely detested when I was finished with it. I still to this day cringe when I heare the name Homo-Erectus because I hated it. I hated it so much LOL that I wanted to tear it up when I was finished and not even turn it in at all. I got an A on it. Also my final score in the class was a B. Alot of times you can be far behind at first and you can get discouraged. I encourage you to stick with the Social Science, forget about the teacher and soley focus on the task at hand. You can overcome it, tell yourself you can, you will, and then you will succeed!

If you're really smart, then you should be able to do well regardless of what the teacher does. It's the student, not the teacher, that is primarily responsible for the quality of his or her education. Whatever issues you have with the teacher, you're going to have to put them aside and focus on the subject itself. I realize this probably isn't what you want to hear but I'm telling you this for your own good: truly good students are far less affected by bad teachers. It's the way things work, and you'd best learn it now.

I had a similar problem my first year in college, and lots of my friends had that problem in high school with one teacher in particular. The best advice I can give you if you can't drop the class. Is to separate your feelings for the teacher from you learning in the class. Hate the teacher when he/she is not teaching, as in outside of class. If you still have trouble learning from them find a person whom you're familiar with in the class and see if you can study with them or get them to tutor you. The hardest part will be trying to grit your teeth and bear it. And if you still don't feel comfortable asking some one for help there are lots of online and outside tutoring options that the Internet offers or advertises. Good Luck!

It's not about the teacher it's about YOU. I HATE my boss but it doesn't stop me from doing my job, and I'm great at my job.

F' that teacher, don't let it stop you from doin your best. It's early in the school year, if that's your current average you can bring it back up at least to a B or maybe a B+.

Be a suckup! Seriously! Deal with the teacher even if he or she is really awful! After class tell your teacher you enjoyed today's lesson, and in the beginning of class tell her you liked last night's homework! Plus do all of your work and extra credit to get your grade up!

So just because you hate your teacher you are going to fail. Remember your teacher already got their papers. You need yours. A teacher is not there to be your friend. Their there to teach.

if you were smart you would pass the class with a good grade and not give the teacher the satisfaction of messing with you.
