I felt stupid asking what that meant (fine hair) because I always thought I had thick hair. My question to you all is what does it mean to have fine hair? is it bad ? Can I make it thick again? Any suggestions or comments please share all your information/knowledge with me.. THank you all very much for your help.

It means that you have alot of hairs on your head, and the hairs are individually thin. Not a bad deal really, better that you have alot. You could try all the thickening products out there that don't really work...lots of hair is good...celebrate :)

Okay.... There is a difference the comparisons are:
Fine OR coarse -referring to the strands
Thick OR thin -referring to amount of hairs
Fine hair can be thick and thin hair can be coarse.
The details are as follows:
FINE- the hair strands are very tiny and generally feels softer.
COARSE- the hair strands are wider in circumference, usually are not so soft or flexible.
THICK- there are a lot of hair strands on the head, therefore it feels thick if you grabbed it all into a pony.
THIN- there are not many hair strands on the head,...an elastic will go around your pony about 5 times before its tight.

Your genes help determine your hair quality
The average person has somewhere between 100,000 and 150,000 individual hair fibres on their scalp when they are born. But by the age of 25, we have just over 50% of our original hair follicles left. The decrease in the number of follicles is primarily genetically determined.
The extent to which hair looks fine is greatly influenced by the number of cuticle layers within each individual hair fibre. Maintaining the condition of the hair in order to keep the layers intact is the single most important thing we can do to protect our hair against damage.

Some women are blessed with thick hair, so each individual hair strand may have approximately 10-12 cuticle layers, whereas fine hair usually only has about 4-6 cuticle layers per hair strand. With time, over-styling and other factors can make it look even finer and thinner as the outer cuticle layers are removed.

Fine hair just means thin. There isnt anything wrong with it. If you have a lot of hair, why would you want to make your hair even thicker? I think its nice to have fine hair but a lot of it. Coarse thick hair is harder to style. Fine hair is easy to style, but usually if its thin, people try to volumize it and make have more body. You have really good hair, why try to change it?

noone is happy hardly but sometimes with the hair you have.If you hair was thin you could see your scalp and it would fall out by the handfuls. So having fine hair just means it is soft and flyaway but thick hair is to much hair and needs to be thinned out sometimes .thick hair is course and hard to curl and style ,and usually has to be thinned out to make it fill better. You can have you hair texturized just a little too much gives you short fly away hairs when it grows back.

what it means to have fine hair and lots of it would mean if you took one strand of your hair it is fine, but you have a lot of it on your head. I would like to have it your way. Fine hair curls better and stays put longer than thicker hair. Don't worry about it, it is not a bad thing!

Fine hair? you'll probly end up with real thin hair when your're older if not bald or balding if your're a guy. Want to thicken it, french kiss an electrical outlet it'll get curled also no extra charge.

i do no longer comprehend that ANY toddler needs that, in spite of her age. i've got seen those little ladies in public with ponytails, colourful rubber bands, etc. and that i've got self belief so undesirable for those teenagers. often times their hair is pulled so tight, it looks like they have had a face raise. LOL i quite do no longer see how this may be soft for the toddler. i think of you may tell them that your daughter is blessed with a eye-catching, organic head of hair, and you do no longer want them messing with it for worry that pulling/messing with it's going to make it fall out.
