The rehearsal dinner is usually a dinner following the rehearsal. The day before the wedding, the parties meet at the location, practice a few times, and then they all go out to dinner. It's a traditional custom, and the Groom's parents typically foot the bill for that dinner.

No, it is the dinner, normally paid for my the grooms parents, held after the rehearsal. Basically, it is the grooms parents way of saying thank you for the next days celebrations and to provide those guests who have come from out of town a chance to get together with the other side of the family. It is optional, but sometimes the bride and groom will open some of the wedding presents at that time.

it's the dinner, lunch, etc given after the wedding rehearsal. Generally it is for the wedding party and out of town guests. It is where the bride and groom give gifts to their wedding party and is generally a small intimate gathering the night or day before the wedding. Traditionally it is paid for by the grooms parents, and can often times have a theme.

It's for the night before the wedding. It's a dinner that brings together the wedding party for a final hurray or something like that. It can be held in a nice restaurant or in a backyard--all depends your tastes.

MOST couples rehearse the day before the wedding, and the dinner follows.

In the past it was usually very formal. Now every couple has the type of dinner that they want.

no, you go tot he venue and practice walking down the aisle and saying your vows so that on the wedding day, you look like you know what you are doing. You also give your wedding party their gifts at the rehearsal dinner.

No, not at the dinner. All the members of the wedding party gather (usually at the church) and go over who does what and when. Afterwards, they go to a restaurant, where reservations have previously been made, and have dinner.
